Morse Street Parent Council brings parents and caregivers together to support our students, strengthen our school community, and help make Morse an even better place to learn and grow.

Looking for a way to get involved? Whether you’re interested in planning school events, supporting families, helping with environmental initiatives, sharing ideas, or connecting with other Morse families, there’s a way for everyone to contribute. You don’t need previous experience or a big time commitment — just a willingness to get involved. Every little bit helps, and many hands can make a big impact!

We’d love to see new and returning families at our first meeting of the year on Tuesday, October 13th at 6:30 p.m. in the school library.

Get Involved with Parent Council

We are incredibly grateful for the continued support of our parent and caregiver community. Volunteers help enrich student experiences by supporting field trips, school events, pizza lunches, sports teams, classroom activities, and more.

Volunteer Requirement

To volunteer at the school or attend field trips, all volunteers must complete a Police Reference Check (Level 2 – Criminal Record and Judicial Matters Check).

How to Apply

Calling All Volunteers!

Each school day, Morse Street offers healthy snacks to every child. There are no forms and no sign-up - the whole class shares it together, so no child is ever singled out. To ensure the continued success of the nutrition program, we need your help!

Grants cover only about half the cost - roughly $0.50 of each snack, which actually costs us about $1.17. Across our 400 students that adds up to about $52,500 a year we need to raise together. The rest is raised right here, by families and neighbours who are able to chip in. Your gift is what keeps this program daily, generous, and free for everyone.

To give, visit tfss.ca/donate/schoolsites-snp, choose “Morse Street Junior Public School Nutrition Program” from the drop-down, and pick a one-time or recurring contribution. It takes two minutes and a tax receipt is issued for gifts of $10 or more.

Student Nutrition Program

Unfortunately, on September 22, Ms. Skipper-Horton and her family, including their two young children, lost their home and belongings in a devastating house fire. We are grateful for the opportunity to come together as a community and support them during this very difficult time.


Ms. Skipper-Horton has been a dedicated teacher at Morse Street Junior Public School for the past seven years and has made a positive impact on so many students and families.

For anyone who would like to help, gift cards can be sent to school with your child or dropped off at the school’s front office.

Fundraising

In addition to our larger fundraising initiatives, we have on-going passive fundraising throughout the year. See below the different ways you can support our goals.

Fundscrip

Purchase gift cards from Fundscrip to give as gifts or to pay for your everyday expenses. Each gift card purchase automatically includes a donation to our fundraising campaign.

The preferred method of payment from Fundscrip is ‘Online Bill Payment’ as this maximizes the amount of donation we receive.

We are looking for parent and caregiver volunteers to participate in council, committees, classroom activities and special events. If you’re interested in helping out with any role, please let us know. All levels of involvement are greatly appreciated!
